Researchers have found that s*x can
actually make you smarter and taking a long break from it might leave
shocking effects on your body.
Surprisingly the old saying “use it or lose it” actually holds up when it comes to taking a break from bedroom action.
S*x is like a muscle and if you don’t exercise it then it can lead to long-term issues.
There are a number of physical
consequences of not having s*x and unfortunately a lot of them are
negative – mainly because you’re missing out on the amazing health
benefits of regular romping.
Here are five things that happen to your body when you go without s*x:
1. Men are more likely to get erectile dysfunction
Having some time off from intercourse can increase the likelihood of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men.
A study published in the American
Journal of Medicine found that regular steamy sessions had a positive
effect on mens’ abilities to get it up.
In fact those who had s.ex once a week where half as likely to develop ED compared to those who were getting busy frequently.
2. Your immune system suffers
If you’re having a break from getting
down and dirty then you may be more prone to illness and infections as
your immune system becomes more vulnerable.
That’s because s*x triggers the body’s natural defences and boosts the functioning of the immune system.
In women, the physiological changes boost her chance of getting pregnant.
3. Your libido might drop
It’s possible that your s.ex drive will
take a nose dive, but it’s not for certain and it’s probably dependent
on the individual.
Some s*xperts believe that time off from
s.ex will lessen your desire for it because your body has dampened its
hormonal response to arousal.
4. You can get more stressed
Because regular s.*x can make you feel more chilled out, then not having it can put you edge.
A study published in Biological
Psychology discovered that people who weren’t getting laid were more
likely to experience a high spike in blood pressure as a response to
s.*x.
5. You won’t get more intelligent
Some people believe that abstinence can
help you focus, become more productive and generally more clever but
there’s no scientific evidence to back that up.
However researchers have found that s*x
can actually make you smarter. Some time spent in the sack helps to
boost the growth of brain cells in the hippocampus.
Scientists from the University of
Maryland and in South Korea found that s.exual activity in mice and rats
improved mental performance and memory function.
